Enhancing Brand Identity and User Engagement for LiveYou

Our primary task was to develop a tablet-centric website for LiveYou. However, this project presented an irresistible opportunity to utilise our internal design expertise to significantly elevate the company's brand presence.

LiveYou aimed to distinguish themselves by appealing to young disabled individuals, encouraging them to utilize their services. Their goal was to pair these individuals with personal assistants who are not just helpers, but companions capable of adding fun to their lives. This unique approach allows them to experience life's significant events, such as attending university, with greater ease and enjoyment.

Illustrations hold a greater potential for triggering emotional responses, thereby enhancing the likelihood of users resonating with your brand.

Illustration significantly enriches brand identity, making your brand instantly recognizable and setting it apart from competitors. It also helps foster a sense of trust among consumers. The illustrative assets we created for the web were seamlessly integrated into other marketing efforts, helping to establish a distinct and consistent brand voice. This strong brand voice aids in brand recall and fosters deeper relationships with the audience through relatable and engaging communication.

Universal messaging and storytelling

Websites serve as an excellent medium for conveying motive and brand messaging. There are three primary methods available for digital communication: creative writing and text, visual elements like photography and illustration, and interactive features. The scenes depicted on LiveYou’s website are carefully designed to help the target audience envision the possibilities enabled by their services, fostering a sense of empowerment. It's through the power of illustrative storytelling that we can effectively achieve this connection.

Built for tablets, and fully responsive

As is standard for all And Element websites, LiveYou is fully responsive on both mobile and desktop devices. However, a key requirement in the website design brief was to cater specifically to the most commonly used device in their target market, which was iPads. To ensure the highest quality, our designers crafted the site in Figma with tablet specifications in mind. This approach involved more than just fitting within tablet dimensions; it also meant reducing reliance on hover interactivity, typical of desktop use, and focusing more on touch-capable interactions suitable for tablet users. We found their existing website to lack the cutting edge required to convert views into clicks. It was build on popular website builder Wix. This resulted in poor UX and colours that clashed resulting into difficult to read text.

We rectified these issues; we redesigned the site using contemporary design methods that expect to exceed a liftime of 10 years. This is then built using bespoke handcrafted React code for ultimate customisability and speed.

Supported beyond digital

We engaged with LiveYou at the early stages of their establishment, making the investment in a well-defined illustration style particularly beneficial. This approach helped boost the brand's legitimacy without the need for years of accumulated photographs and real company events, which had not yet taken place at the time. The branding and illustration assets initially created for the web have since extended their reach to other mediums, including banners, convention stalls, and leaflets, all of which have significantly contributed to enhancing the brand's visibility.
